Function as a system engineer on a 24 hour a day helpdesk, providing support for the FAA’s weather and flight planning systems in an Agile environment. Team Lead for the FINWSS (First-in Weather-to-the-Warfighter) project, which provided troops overseas critical mobile real time weather data. Responsible for providing security recommendation for SUN, HP, CISCO, and Windows systems to the Govt. Comm. Systems Division.Worked closely with software engineers to provide time sensitive patches and software upgrades. Provide system and network administrator services on Solaris, Hewlett Packard, Linux, Windows NT, 2000 and XP networks utilizing Cisco, Bay Networks and Foundry hardware.Managed a $300,000 helpdesk relocation project for a 24 hour a day, 20-person helpdesk which resulted in no adverse impact to our customers.Supply hardware, OS, and application support for various platforms including Sun Servers and workstations, HP L series servers, Dell Desktops, Laptops, Cisco Routers and Remote Access Servers. RF and Satellite receivers.Maintain the helpdesk network which provides support options ranging from TCP/IP, Analog modem, ISDN, and Satellite connections.Assist in maintaining a real-time monitor system built on HP’s OpenView application, monitoring the FAA’s OASIS sites (Operational and Supportability Implementation System).
