I have my AASI Snowboard Level 1, 2, 3, Children’s Specialist 1, and Freestyle Specialist 1 certifications. I have taken out customers as a steeps guide who want to explore the extreme terrain at Crested Butte. I work with all ages on how to learn and continue to progress their snowboarding. I am continually going to training events to progress my knowledge base on how to improve my teaching and my riding. I am one of three snowboard trainers at the mountain and run trainings for the other instructors. I ran rehire training, level 2 trainings, freestyle trainings, and rider improvement trainings.

I coach both skiers and snowboarders on the Freeride Team. We work on improving skill sets through technique drills and challenging terrain to prepare the athletes for competitions. At competitions I coach athletes on how to conduct inspection of the venue and what line choices will be best for placing well. In addition to coaching I also organize meeting times, driving the team to competitions, cooking breakfast for the team during competition trips, and providing advice for having a positive mental state during stressful competitions.

Assisted CPW with river shocking the San Miguel to collect Bluehead Suckers for the fish hatchery by netting, rowing, working up fish, tagging, and collecting genetics to be sent to a lab. Shocked Yellowjacket Canyon in Canyon of the Ancients National Monument with CPW to put tags in Roundtail Chubs, Flannelmouth Suckers, and Bluehead Suckers and to look for the top extent of where Rio Grande Chubs are located (they were introduced into the system years ago and are non-native to the area). Assisted CPW with Boreal Toad surveys in multiple areas throughout Southwest Colorado. Assisted CPW with barge shocking of the Taylor River by the outlet of the dam for sport fishery population estimate on Rainbow and Brown Trout. Assisted CPW with gill net setting and collection on the Blue Mesa Reservoir. Lead a backpacking trip to three high alpine lakes in the Powderhorn Wilderness with CPW to set and collect gill nets for a population estimate survey. Lead multiple survey trips with CPW for fishery work. Drafted and finalized an EA for Road Beaver Creek in order to install Beaver Dam Analogs (BDAs) to create overwinter habitat for the Cutthroat Trout that we reintroduced after our reclamation project in 2020. Wrote and submitted a Nationwide Permit 27 to the Army Corps of Engineers to go with the EA for Road Beaver Creek. Drafted and finalized an EA for Cunningham Creek by Silverton for BDAs to be installed by a contractor (Ecometrics) to help increase riparian robustness and create more fish habitat. Built steps down to the Lake Fork for easier fishing access as the steep, rocky slope was becoming a hazard to many fishermen.

Drafted, revised, and finalized the Dolores Antenna DNA and the Dolores Antenna FONSI in order to install a Passive Interrogation Array – River Wide Antenna for CPW to conduct research on migration and movement patters for the native three species (Flannelmouth Sucker, Bluehead Sucker, and Roundtail Chub). Drafted, revised, and finalized the Gunnison River BA (Biological Assessment) in order to clear the section of river that needed to have sediment removed by a boat ramp on BLM for safer boat access and launching. Assisted CPW in a raft shocking trip on the Gunnison River. Provided help on the Gunnison River trip as an adaptable resource by working fish up (identification, weighing, measuring, and marking), throwing the trode on the raft, netting fish on the raft, and rowing the chase rafts. Assisted CPW and the National Park Service with a fish shocking trip to the Great Sand Dunes National Park by shocking Medano Creek for Rio Grande Suckers to see if previous years of stocking had established enough of a population to be self-sufficient and have recruitment of a natural population. Assisted CPW with relocating brown and rainbow trout at the base of the Spring Creek Reservoir Dam, after the reservoir was drained for construction, to more suitable habitat downstream since hundreds of trout that came out of the reservoir were stuck in nearby pools and were doing poorly. Assisted CPW with eDNA collection of Road Beaver Creek (where the previous summer we had done the reclamation) in order to send to a lab to see if the reclamation had been successful. Assisted CPW with Boreal Toad surveys and egg collection to be transported to the hatchery in the San Luis Valley. Assisted CPW with PIT (Passive Integrated Transponders) tagging Rio Grande Suckers at the hatchery in San Luis Valley. Helped conduct multiple shocking trips to various streams throughout Gunnison and Southwest Colorado for population estimates, invasive removal, and tagging three species.

Built 15 fishing access crossovers to be put in at fences along the Lake Fork in specific areas. Cut willows for trails, conducted time of travel, assisted CPW with a bioassay, moved 27.5 tons of rock to riprap an area by the diversion/barrier, and set up camping as well as marked trails and backwaters/seeps/springs for the Road Beaver Reclamation Project. Received certification for aquatic pesticide application. Helped to lead and assist CPW with the Road Beaver Reclamation Project in order to prepare the stream for later reintroduction of Greenback Cutthroat Trout. Shocked the entirety of Road Beaver for fish after the reclamation to ensure that all the Brook Trout had been removed for a total of 10 shock hours. Spent a week down by Cortez, CO on Yellowjacket Creek fish shocking for the three species (Flannelmouth Sucker, Bluehead Sucker, Roundtail Chub) survey. Conducted fish shocking surveys in the Silverton, CO area to see if species were in certain streams. Typed up reports for areas surveyed throughout the field season. Created a diversity PowerPoint presentation on Native Americans that were in the Gunnison area. Helped complete the DNA (Determination of NEPA Adequacy) and Army Corps permitting for S. Fork of Mesa Creek. Got assigned as a driver for the Mullen Fire on the boarder of Wyoming and Colorado. Completed vehicle reports along with taking the truck to a shop to do general maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations. Used GPS/Maps to navigate to areas that needed surveys conducted as well as using GIS/Arcpad to take locations and input data into a geodatabase. Used GIS to relay information and specific data to the fisheries biologist I worked under for his analyses. Hiked in rough terrain, dealt with changing weather conditions, and adapted to changing situations to deal with them properly. Conducted all work under little to no supervision and completed projects and/or data collection on time.

I drafted and finalized a CX NEPA document for Badger Creek in order to get a third party (Ecometrics) to conduct wetland restoration work. Worked alongside Ecometrics with planning, implementing, and concluding the wetland restoration work that used sod plugs to help propagate the water across previous wetland area to help wetland plants for succession. Worked with the state office on reviewing grants for monetary awards to third parties, in order to do wetland/riparian work across the state of Colorado. Assisted with a reclamation project on the west slope (Roan Plateau), led by CPW in order to reclaim the East Fork of Parachute Creek for later reintroduction of Green Back Cutthroat Trout. Assisted CPW with restocking of Green Back Cutthroat Trout in Dry Gulch just north of I-70 by Loveland Resort and restocking at Cottonwood Creek in the Sangre De Cristo Mountain range. Assisted CPW and Colorado University of Boulder with capturing Boreal Toads at ponds of the South Cottonwood Creek for research purposes. Assisted CPW with restocking Boreal Toad tadpoles at Browns Creek out by Nathrop, CO. Assisted CPW with fish shocking from a raft on the Arkansas River to get a population estimate in areas that might need management decisions. Helped CPW during the raft shocking effort on the Arkansas River by measuring, weighing, and recording species of fish. Assisted CPW and Forest service with multiple amphibian surveys on Forest Service land including a two-day backpacking trip in the Collegiate Wilderness. I assisted with GARNA 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 6th grade field trips to help educate them on (respectively) bird identification and bird watching; bat identification, habitat, and facts; and the causes of erosion, pollution, and how it can affect the watershed.

I was kept on through the winter of 2018/2019 in order to keep up to date with ongoing projects from 2018 summer. I was hired through the Southwestern Conservation Corps to work for the BLM in the same position that I had during the summer. I worked mainly from a remote laptop using GIS and the shared folder on the BLM intranet. I met with my supervisor once a month in person to get updates and go over work that I was conducting remotely. I started a draft NEPA document for a CX on Badger Creek in order to work with a third party on doing wetland restoration work. I also continued to reorganize the shared drive on the BLM intranet as well as make sure that all paper forms (historical and new) were scanned into the shared drive.

Also, hauled materials back from the fire line to the fire camp and helped with the disassembly of the fire camp. Reorganized the RGFO PFC (Proper Functioning Condition) geodatabase by renaming, updating, and deleting unnecessary information to get the database ready to be uploaded to Collector (Online GIS) for use in the field. Conducted amphibian surveys in high alpine ponds looking for Boreal Toads, which are on the endangered species list. Helped the Boat AIM crew with two on stream surveys collecting data to be used by the Bug Lab. Helped to create maps of the Four Mile watershed to be used by the public for access to fishing areas. Worked on photo points for Badger Creek to be compared to previous years photos in order to see if the habitat/stream was trending towards a healthier status. Also located cross section points to either be used or replaced to gather information for how Badger Creek is trending. Gathered historic photos of Badger Creek and compiled them to see the historic change of the channel, meanders, and vegetation. Worked on TMP (Travel Management Planning) from Leadville, CO down to Granite, CO on BLM roads that need to be fixed and have erosion/water mitigation by mapping the roads and using GIS to designate where water bars, boulders, and buck-n-rail need to be placed. Assisted CPW with fish shocking at Cache Creek to get a population estimate in a problem area caused by recreational mining/gold panning due to physical disturbance of the stream by undercutting trees, rerouting the creek, and sediment loading. Conducted amphibian surveys in high alpine ponds looking for Boreal Toads, which are on the endangered species list. Assisted CPW and Forest service with multiple amphibian surveys on Forest Service land including a two-day backpacking trip in the Collegiate Wilderness. Attended a Leave No Trace training seminar and received a LNT Certificate. I also did 40+ hours of Wildland Fire Fighting training along with a pack test and field day to receive my red card and become a certified Wildland Fire Fighter Type II. Did multiple online trainings in NEPA analysis and other online certifications from other disciplines in the office.

Went on an eight-day hitch with the AIM crew out of Alamosa, CO to help them navigate to streams and collect data to be used by the Bug Lab at Utah State University. Helped the Colorado Mountain College with a booth that was set up during a BBQ event in Leadville, CO to educate and bring awareness to the importance of the watershed in the area. Completed vehicle reports and fixed the toolbox on the work truck. Went through ATV and Plant ID training allowing me to get to areas quicker and identify riparian plants. Created a map for the Hayden wildfire to be used by personnel, a map of the Four Mile watershed to be used by the public, and a map for a NEPA project on the Dollar Gulch diversion. Worked on photo points for Grape Creek and Rye Slough to be compared to previous years photos in order to see if the habitat/stream was trending towards a healthier status. Helped build Buck-n-Rail in Leadville, CO to stop vehicles from driving into eroded areas that need to be restored. Found the Arizona Spring Stewardship Database and used it to compare our database with, in hopes to find springs that we have not found and to gain additional information that we may not have had. Hiked 10-15 miles a day in rough terrain, dealt with changing weather conditions, and adapted to changing situations to deal with them properly. Lead a land improvement project where I repaired bird nesting platforms, placed new duck nesting boxes, and put in willow plugs along the Arkansas River and around small ponds at Blue Heron near Florence, CO. I also helped the forester conduct ITM (Individual Tree Marking) by marking trees in an area that was to be cut for commercial lumber. The rest of my time at BLM I worked under the riparian and fisheries biologist helping him conduct amphibian surveys in high alpine ponds. Lastly, I helped repair fences that were around the perimeter of BLM land. Conducted most work under little to no supervision and completed projects and/or data collection on time.

Led a watch team of sailors in processing and dissemination of two million messages in support of 23 commands worldwide. Resolved 1,025 remedy tickets and trouble calls across five networks and flawlessly completed 115 cross-domain transfers between three distinct networks. I also led in the disposition of 700 legacy assets in preparations of the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet Network installation and successfully migrated one terabyte of user data and share drive information onto the network resulting in zero data loss. Besides working with the IT department I also did maintenance and landscaping for general upkeep of the base among many other various jobs that the military demands of their personnel. I completed my A+, Network+, and MCP Certificates and have a well-rounded understanding for many different jobs.
