Hi there! My name is Justin. I am a drug policy activist and aspiring scientist primarily interested in evidence based, health-centric approaches to drug policy and mental illness.My main goal in life is to help address depression, anxiety, PTSD, suicidality, and addiction in underserved communities. I aim to do this by utilizing my background in biochemistry, interest in neuroscience and psychology, as well as my lived experiences dealing with racism, homophobia, and mental illness related to minority distress. I am currently serving on the Board of Directors for Students for Sensible Drug Policy. I recently worked as an intern Lykos Therapeutics (formerly MAPS Public Benefit Corporation), with a team that trains mental health practitioners on the use of MDMA for the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I am also a passionate photographer with close to a decade of freelance experience, as well as a writer and public speaker who hopes to use art, creative writing, non-fiction, and public speaking to inspire change.
