In January 2021 Trinity Church Nashville merged with Edgefield Baptist Church to become Edgefield Church Nashville. I had the privilege of continuing on as the Director of Operations. As a part of the merger process, I managed the legal and financial components of bringing two non-profits together. For the first 10 months, I managed the renovation project for Edgefield's 114-year old building to address deferred maintenance as well as prepare the building for the next generation of ministry.In addition to the renovation project, I managed the building itself, the church budget, mobilized volunteers to serve the church and community, and often took the lead on planning staff-wide projects and checking in on staff to make sure they had what they needed to make progress in their areas of responsibility.

Trinity Church was founded in 2010 as a church planted by Grace Community Church in Brentwood, TN and officially ceased operations as a church on December 31, 2020. On January 1, 2021 Trinity Church merged with Edgefield Baptist Church to become Edgefield Church. My role at Trinity Church was to take the day-to-day operations off the elders so they could focus their time and efforts more fully on ministering directly to Trinity members and the community in general. Some of my responsibilities included recruiting and mobilizing volunteers, planning and executing events, keeping fresh content on social media and website, and managing finances. I thrived at finding new solutions to old problems so we could maximize and multiply our resources for the good of our mission. My desire in this role was to magnify God through excellent management of all our resources--whether they be people, physical assets, or finances.In addition to my main responsibilities under business operations, I fostered local and international ministry partnerships. This included organizing and recruiting participants for the church's annual missionary support trip to Central Asia. I also intermittently provided preparation, on-field support and connect points back to the church for missionaries sent out through the church. In addition, I stayed in touch with local ministry partners to encourage them, presented proposals for church financial support to those partners, and sought to connect church members to service opportunities.

(All of the "I's" below seem so self-centered, which is not my intent. In actuality, much of my work was collaborative and would have been impossible to execute without a phenomenal team.)I oversaw day-to-day office operations including physical plant, vehicle fleet, IT systems.I developed more effective policies and procedures that served refugees, staff, and other guests.I oversaw social media, website, and marketing materials for all programs.I supervised our Administrative Secretary and REACH Program Manager. I cultivated relationships in the community with business professionals in order to provide a welcoming environment for professional refugees and immigrants.I was the Project Manager for World Relief's new and expanded offices/ministry center that opened in April 2016.This position allowed me to pursue my passion for welcoming refugees and immigrants while utilizing business skills and knowledge to increase the excellence with which we served the community.

In this position I had the joy of creating awareness and ministry opportunities among TN businesses and individuals to engage our local refugee populations. I also worked with local nonprofits and schools to strengthen our families' welcoming community. I oversaw the annual Benefit Dinner and wrote community foundation grants to support our programs.The best part of my job was coordinating and unifying the efforts of our Volunteer Coordinator, Journey Youth Program Manager, and REACH Program Manager to increase our resource base (through volunteers, gift-in-kind, and financial resources).

In this position, I planned and implemented merchandise and ad sets through the teamwork of our Area Supervisor, Department Supervisors, and Department Associates. In addition, shared E3 (or Manager on Duty) shifts with other Assistant Managers and Store Manager, which means one is responsible for responding to all needs within the four walls of the store. The first three months of this position was spent in Louisville, KY in the Manager in Training program, then I was transferred to the Clarksville, TN store.

While at Southern, I served in multiple positions. I started out part-time at 5th and Broadway and then promoted through three positions until I eventually became the Retail Manager for both campus stores - 5th & Broadway and Edgar's. I served in the Retail Manager position for the last three years of my time at Southern. In this position, I created and implemented the sales and marketing strategy as a part of the overall Hospitality Services strategic plan. I was responsible for creating marketing pieces for our sales and promotionals - sometimes I created these directly and other times I worked with the Communications department for more professional pieces.While working at Southern, I was also responsible for creating the stores' budgets and maintaining overall expenses for combined budgets of $450,000 as well as reconciling multiple revenue and expense accounts each month. Finally, I spent time in the local community creating awareness for our men's store (Edgar's) and print services at our copy center (Production Services).The other positions I held were Production Services Team Leader and Retail Services Team Leader.
