I work on the Digital Advertising Platform team, in which I help to automate and optimize a system that posts automobile dealer advertisements to Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other major online services. • Carbon Tax Calculator, advised by Alan Borning: Designed and built a calculator website to help inform 7 million Washington state voters about the impact of a revenue-neutral carbon tax proposal on their household or business tax situation. Created an interactive data visualization using the D3.js Javascript library to model estimated statewide financial impacts of the carbon tax policy. • Computational Neuroscience, advised by Rajesh Rao: Developed a probabilistic model of how time is processed in the lateral intraparietal area of the brain. • Created a C++ program to control a pan-tilt unit (PTU) remotely using a client-server model network based on the Neutral Message Language. The program offers very accurate control of the PTU for hardware testing purposes.• Enhanced a data acquisition, storage, and access system to support additional types of data.
