My name is Justin Bauer. I am currently working at Carestream Health as a Quality Assurance Engineer II. I am a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and have a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth. At my current position as a Quality Engineer at Carestream Health, I worked with a cross-functional group to support Quality Assurance and Design Verification/Validation activities of medical and non-medical media systems (film, paper, printers, etc.) during the research and development phase and post commercialization of a product's left cycle. I have participated as a Core Team Member representing the Design Quality function by collaborating with Manufacturing and Product Developers to ensure the completion of required deliverables prior to gate meetings. I wrote test plans and test reports to assess changes made to the current product. I wrote test methods that provided clear direction for technicians to complete. I coordinated 3 technicians to complete 30+ different test methods in a timely manner while also providing accurate data that could be used to make decisions to provide a better product. For my Green Belt project, I used root cause analysis tools, like the FMEA, to identify potential causes for a problem with a potential new product. Once I discovered the potential causes of the problem, I used current test methods to find a correlation between a production sample and a pilot sample to determine how to make the potential new product better and how to test future pilot samples before committing to a production run for this problem. As a QA engineering technician at Carestream, I completed high priority test requests from the formulation lab and quality engineer. I took the initiative to learn about the tests that I was performing and the purpose of the tests as to how they try to address concerns from customers, formulation specialists, or elsewhere. At 3M as a lab technician, I conducted abrasive performance testing and performed data analysis. I gave the product development engineers recommendations for future experiments. I utilized Microsoft office, mainly Excel, and Minitab to analyze data and report results to the engineers. I operated an extruder and support abrasive line operation.Throughout my experiences and educational background, I learned how to be proficient in Microsoft Excel. I can write Visual Basic Programs within Excel that can greatly expand the functionality of a spreadsheet, resulting in faster calculations and creating a user-friendly interface.
