The Potter’s House is a nonprofit café, bookstore, and event space in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC. Since 1960 we have been a key third place for deeper conversation, creative expression, and community transformation; all in the name of serving others with radical hospitality.

- Successfully spearheaded board governance initiatives, overseeing the expansion of the board from 10 to 15 members, strategically enhancing organizational leadership and diversity.- Led creation of the 2024-2027 strategic plan, orchestrating inclusive community stakeholder participation for a diverse and impactful roadmap featuring three key strategic objectives.- Grew the organization from a single program to 3 mission-aligned program areas providing literacy services to people of all ages, though primarily children from 0-12.Collaborated with key stakeholders to create and implement a cross-sector school-based literacy mentor program for elementary school students with a goal of increasing reading proficiency for students.- Developed a community-wide program that provides 3 books to 650+ Pre-K aged children each month across 14 schools. Each bundle also includes developmentally appropriate resources for caregivers to support their child’s literacy growth outside of school.- Stewarded the transition of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Clarke County from the United Way of Northeast Georgia to Books for Keeps.

Directed onsite operations for the public facing taproom, leading a staff of full and part-time employees to provide a mission-aligned guest experience.Created and maintained training materials and hiring practices that exemplified the brand’s mission, vision and values.Oversaw the successful transition of the entire service model during state law changes.

Member of the inaugural staff at the Rook and Pawn. Assisted in training all new bar employees on proper procedures and health code rulings. Responsible for creating cocktail recipes, menus, educating and guiding guests through the game selection process, and assisting in day to day operations. Responsible for ordering locally sourced craft beers and liquors weekly.

Oversaw the grand opening team, the many activities that take place during the grand opening week, and provided the new Operator with on-the-ground business support, resources, and guidance to ensure the restaurant is opened with a solid foundation that coincides with the mission and goals of Chick-Fil-A.
