There are so many words that could describe Justin -- intelligent, warm, empathetic, goal-oriented -- but there are so many more good ones that would not fit in this recommendation. Justin has consistently made sure that my own career goals are being met while organizing tasks for the team to achieve the company's roadmap goal. This is no easy feat; many managers fall into the trap of focusing on one or the other. Justin is an exception. As a manager, he is also very willing to get his hands dirty with individual contributions so our team can keep moving forward. Moreover, he values transparency, trust, and work-life balance, which are all aspects that every engineering team should seek in a candidate. This has led to major progress in our work but has also helped me grow in my engineering skills, giving me the tools to find "fun" in work again.
