Astronomy has always been an interest of mine as I have always loved travelling. But why limit ourselves to travelling within this world when we can go beyond. It is always fascinating to see how minuscule we are compared to the vast cosmos surrounding us.Traveling by land or sea is something that most people can do frequently and is fairly common. Travelling by air however, is much more uncommon. I have always found it intriguing how an aircraft operates and have always been fascinated by it. In modules such as Aircraft Electrical Systems, I have learnt how the plane operates as well as what powers the plane. I have learnt about the various generators and various key electrical systems within the aircraft. Not only that, I have learnt some basic hard skills such as crimping and wire locking in my module called Aircraft Maintenance Practices. I am also well equipped with knowledge related to the aerospace industry by learning about Aircraft Servomechanisms and Aircraft Electrical Systems. Singapore Polytechnic has also taught me about the up and coming technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and more about how cybersecurity works. Apart from hard skills, I also have soft skills such as being a team player as well as leadership skills. I picked up my leadership skills through my time in Secondary School where I was assigned to be my Co-Curriculum Activities (CCA) chairperson. I appreciate being able to work together in groups as I can socialize with others as well as provide each other with our own opinions to further improve the work that we produce. Within the industry, there is always a need for more leaders to be able to take charge. Hence with my soft skills, I hope to be able to lead a team of my own to carry out various projects.By pursing my current course, I hope I am able to work in companies that allows me to work closely with aircrafts and eventually being able to learn and work with rockets which would help me to pursue my dream career of astronomy. The eagerness from being able to operate such inventions and to understand the engineering and technology behind the aircrafts truly fueled my passion for the aerospace industry. With my soft and hard skills, I believe I am capable to provide to the aerospace industry.
