After High School I worked in Germany for two years helping and leading thousands of people in numerous cities and situations. After returning from Germany in 2007, I joined Weber State University and graduated in General Economics and Business German. The capstone of my time at Weber State was when I created the Weber State – Uganda Rural Fund joint project. I led a group of students to go to Uganda, Africa to do research on microfinance loans and savings in the rural area of Kyetume, Uganda. I also wrote an eight class business curriculum for the area that focused on technological advancement in small business, helped start three small businesses, and worked at the Uganda Rural Fund orphanage and middle school. My senior year of school I started working for a small start-up called Utah Senior Planning as a marketer and benefits adviser. During my 4 years at Utah Senior Planning I helped grow the business from 1 full time employee (myself) to 14 employees. I left Utah Senior Planning to grow my leadership and technical innovation abilities. In 2015, I joined Sunrise Senior Living to become an Executive Director of an Assisted Living and Memory care. There I oversaw a 5.5 million dollar renovation as well as the daily operations of the assisted living and memory care. I then became the Executive Director of a larger community that had 128 units broken up into six buildings with independent living, assisted living, and memory care. In 2018, I founded Vocit and organized our initial team to build a Minimum Viable Product to validate the Vocit vision. We launched a small test launch in July of 2018, in which we learned a lot, but most importantly was able to validate the idea and get great feedback. I have built a stronger team in 2019 for our beta launch in the summer of 2019 and to get funding to develop the technologies behind Vocit. I have since returned to Utah Senior Planning doing senior benefits advising and marketing.
