As a nuclear facilities systems engineer at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) for over two years, I apply my critical thinking and conflict resolution skills to design and improve systems that support the nation's security and scientific missions. I work with a diverse and multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and technicians to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of nuclear facilities and operations.Having served for six years as active duty Security Forces in the U.S. Air Force, I learned to have discipline, conflict resolution, and team building leadership. Being a staff sergeant in the military taught me how to be a leader, after learning how to be a fluid team member. These skills have proven invaluable in my time as full time engineer.Lastly, working as a math tutor at the Los Alamos Colleges, I've learned to engage with people from all walks of life and learned how to present math material to many different skill sets in a digestible manner, this has proven handy when presenting engineering proposals to varying teams, vendors, and customers.
