Manage team of 20 supporting the operational risk platform and all related upgrades and reporting. • Passive Investment Companies (PIC), January 2006-March 2007Oversee the daily operations of seven PICs with assets of $65 billion including the processing of security settlements and the related accounting entries. Organize and preside over quarterly board meetings. Administer the reconcilement of operating accounts. Plan and conduct testing for Fed Funds contingency site backing up Charlotte money desk. Worked with the Fed Home Loan districts to improve whole loan collateral reporting, resulting in reduced funding costs for the bank. Assisted collateral management desk to obtain a reduction in loan collateral haircut.

Managed system integration planning for funding, safekeeping and accounting groups. Performed current environment assessment, identified gaps and completed business requirements. Directed the initial system testing, including script writing, system configuration, functionality testing and bug identification. Facilitated resolution of set-up and testing issues with vendor. Led first phase of MBNA to Bank of America merger for investment portfolio and funding, including legal day 1 purchase accounting and position conversion totaling $10 billion.

Loan Trading SupportLed the assimilation of loan trading function into Treasury Operations, including hiring staff and removing the backlog of 100 outstanding deals. Instituted stronger controls and accountability to the loan trading process. Oversaw revision and review of loan documents and arranged the closing of loan trades with counterparts. Directed staff on the weekly reporting of trader P&L. Derivative Collateral ManagementConducted the monitoring of counterpart positions with FX and derivative collateral agreements. Coordinated movement of functions into the Treasury Operations reporting line. Implemented new controls for monitoring positions between systems. Managed reconcilement of valuation issues with counterparts and interacted with derivative traders, credit and risk departments to resolve variance. Achieved clearance rates for all counterparty resolution items within stated guidelines.

Managed the processing of 700 daily transactions in support of fixed income sales and the funding desk. Oversaw accounting for 8,000 customer positions valued at $50 billion. Products include jumbo CDs, offshore deposits, bank debt, repurchase agreements, Bank of America commercial paper and Fed Funds. Directed staff in the daily funds movement in excess of $5 billion through Fed wire and daily principal and interest payments to customers on their security holdings. Facilitated issue resolution with the funding and sales desks and built a positive working relationship with front office partners. Attained low error rates and strong audit results and fostered an environment of effective controls. Prepared risk assessment matrices for department to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, detailing areas of risk in the department and documented procedures in place to mitigate those risks.
