Over the past 7+ years, I have built a solid reputation as a go-to Drilling Optimization Engineer for successfully mitigating drilling dysfunctions, directional issues, and wellbore instability. Launching my career in Permian & Anadarko Basins as a Field Engineer with Baker Hughes, I transitioned after 2+ years to take on some of Pioneer Natural Energy’s most challenging drilling optimization projects in the Permian. Throughout my life, I've enjoyed learning how things work and solving complex engineering problems. When a toy broke, I would tear it apart to figure out the failure point and make it work again. This curiosity guided me to study mechanical engineering so that I could learn more about how the world worked. After completing a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, I followed my family into the oilfield and have been figuring out how to drill oil wells faster ever since. To me, drilling is a great engineering challenge since there is no way to see what is happening inside the well. My hands-on leadership style prioritizes people over self-promotion, which is why I have enjoyed working with companies like Pioneer Natural Resources and Baker Hughes that value highly motivated, hardworking individuals willing to roll up their sleeves until the job is done. In my last role as a Drilling Engineer Consultant with Pioneer Natural Resources, I beta tested and implemented PXDrill – a Continuous Improvement Program – while assisting in field trials, launching a Remote Monitoring Center, and training Drillers, Directional Drillers, Well Site Supervisors, and Drilling Engineers. I hold Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University.
