Under the leadership of Dr. Yona Levites, Dr. Todd Golde, and primary mentor Danny Ryu, modeled five hTau24 plasmids via SDM. Transfected in HEK cells, these isoforms express differing rates of aggregation, providing model methods in imaging tau, a critical protein in Alzheimer's Disease onset and progression. Presented at Emory's Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium as part of Emory SURE 2024.Presented at SEMSS 2024 at Vanderbilt University, one of 32 undergraduates granted a travel award and one of ~300 participants chosen.

With guidance from Dr. Viranuj Sueblinvong and Dr. Xian Fan in Emory's PACCM Division, our project investigates the axis by which chronic alcohol abuse can lead to oxidative stress. The pathway we propose suggests that acetaldehyde, ethanol's primary metabolite, is capable of regulating Nrf2-ARE signaling by knocking down c-Fos and thus miR-144. This pathway identifies acetaldehyde dehydrogenase inhibitor 4-MP as a potential target for supressing oxidative stress.Presented at Emory Day of Medicine 2024.Presented at AIRIG 2024 hosted by Loyola University Chicago
