I'm a software developer with Bachelor's degrees in Computer and Electrical Engineering. My skillset covers the areas of embedded systems, computer hardware, and software design in general. My strongest languages are Java, C++, and Python. I've worked as a Research Assistant for the University of Michigan Dearborn's robotics lab and wrote software for embedded systems platforms and an Android mobile app. The role also involved the reverse engineering of hardware protocols for peripherals including sensors, displays, and the humanoid robot's CANOpen arm motors, along with the creation of corresponding software libraries. I've worked on a number of technical projects on an educational and hobby basis, in addition to the professional projects. Largest in scope would be the design and implementation of an FPGA based custom CPU architecture to create a microcontroller and retro game console from the ground up. This project not only entailed the hardware design of said platform, but also a suite of software including an Assembler, a C compiler backend, and a full featured debugger/emulator. My next largest project was a custom Java to C++ transpiler which brought Java software to platforms without a native Java runtime. Such a project required a near complete understanding of the Java language platform as well as in-depth knowledge of C++ object oriented concepts to recreate all of the required functionality in a completely different environment.
