Since the summer of 2014, I have had a wide variety of experiences and opportunities to expand my skills and just as many opportunities to educate others through youth education programs, mentoring and teaching assistant positions. I have improved my skills through courses and self-learning projects which most recently include further developing my skills using python in ArcGIS and open-source packages such as GDAL. My current research at the University of Waterloo focuses on the analysis of time series data for lake ice monitoring and assessing lake ice properties via remote sensing images. Previously, I have worked on projects that integrate remote sensing and GIS including work on detecting invasive species such as the EAB within South Eastern Ontario, large scale lake ice ice on and off dates using MODIS data, the development of a threshold-based method for lake ice detection in Central Ontario, and estimations of lake ice thickness using RADARSAT-2 and temperature-based indices.
