Justin O’Brien is a furniture-maker with over twenty years experience in his craft. He began his career training as a cabinet-maker at Rycotewood College in Oxfordshire. He chose to design furniture with a strong sculptural aesthetic, this led to a brief career in set design and artistic direction within the film industry. Justin began experimenting with sheet materials such as plywood whilst embracing modern manufacturing technology alongside handmade craft, which lent itself perfectly to a repetitive, component-based style of design.He continues to take inspiration from the natural world, creating linear-based, free-flowing forms for bespoke commissions and batch production projects on behalf of a select group of private clients, architects and interior designers.With a highly-tuned and original eye for detail, Justin produces progressive, innovative pieces for site-specific projects within private homes and commercial properties/spaces.
