As a third-generation constructor, Justin’s passion and involvement with the development process predates his more than 20 year career in the industry.His curiosity to explore all aspects of the construction industry still thrives and provides him with an unmatched ability to see the full picture.Justin started with Jacobs CRSS, as owner’s representative on the Thomas F. Eagleton Federal Courthouse. Next he became Project Manager for the large mechanical contractor Condaire, directly overseeing $10 million in mechanical systems for two new hospitals being developed in downtown St. Louis. Justin expanded his responsibilities with the Chicago based general contractor Leopardo Construction, where he focused on the healthcare industry, overseeing multiple projects for prominent healthcare providers such as The University of Chicago Hospitals and Covenant Retirement Communities. At Power Construction Justin honed his understanding of field operations on the 13-story headquarters of the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) in Chicago’s West Loop. The opportunity to be onsite each day provided critical insights into scheduling and coordination.In 2004 Justin founded Pathmann Construction Management to focus on finding the best solutions for his clients. Pathmann CM soon became proficient as a municipal construction manager, focusing on township and library projects. Successfully transforming more than 20 libraries into state-of-the-art community centers in Hinsdale, Elmhurstand many other Chicago suburbs.Justin’s desire to scale up his business and expand his range of clients led him co-found Rethink, a full service CM/Owner’s Rep firms that combines his strong construction experience with Golden Spike’s extensive development portfolio to provide owners such as Poag Shopping Centers superior guidance and representation throughout the entire development process for high-end retailers such as Altar’d State, The Lucky Well, Athleta and Madison Reed.
