Software Developer
I've recently resumed my business, Theoretical Game Development. In May 2017, I was able to obtain my first client, working with ConnectUs. My work involved developing an Android app, that interfaces with RFID scanners. The data is sent from the scanner and then sent to a Java server. More recently, the Android development is complete and the client was very happy with the Android version. The work was completed at home. My involvement for this project ended in December 2017. I'm now working on personal project, a multiplayer game that assists people to learn Kanji. Kanji are Chinese characters that are incorporated into the Japanese language. The overall aim of the game is have fun, while learning an important aspect of Japanese. Both a desktop/laptop (PC/Mac/Linux) and mobile (Android) are playable, with further endeavours to develop web and iOS platforms with the ability to cross play, i.e. playing on any platform with any other platform.
Head Teacher
After studying and learning about Computer Science, I'm returning my knowledge to young kids of Melbourne. I helped kids from ages of 7 to 11 developing all sort of video games, while learning important coding skills. I recently being promoted to a Head Teaching role, teaching the next generation of coders!
Customer Service
I've work at Hoban for the last year and half in range of roles. My primary role is customer service, assisting the general public. For instance, helping people to reach their destination (work, home or a weekend football game). My other roles include working for the city of Melbourne, during NYE, data entry during the last Australian election and collecting passenger data for Yarra Trams.
Technician
Working as a reconnect and disconnect technician for Allied IT, meaning that I disconnect wires from typically PCs. Following a movement of PCs (not my job), I then reconnect the wires with a quick turn on test. Allied IT obtains contracts from companies to move office PCs from one location to another.
It Support Specialist
My responsibilities included diagnosing and resolving IT problems at small to medium business in the Melbourne area. Examples of my work range from the very simple of restoring a second monitor to restoration of a whole computer. Further examples, included diagnosing speed issues within a server environment, the removal of viruses, spyware and malware and the installation of a computer and printer in a small shop.
Trainee
My time at ThoughtWorks involved the LevelUp program, a program that aims to expose university students to the software industry. The program lasts for the seven week, where I worked with three other software developers and two business analyst. Our task was to build software to control hypothetical police forces, that was going to patrol the streets of Melbourne. The software was built in Ruby and our client was very satisfied with the outcome. During my time at ThoughtWorks, I learnt about, how to program within Ruby, refined my skill with the Agile methodology, Test Driven Development (TDD), paired programming, User Interfaces (UI) and User Experience (UX), and source control (Git and GitHub). Would highly recommend for any software engineer or computer science student. http://levelup.thoughtworks.com/
Sales Assistant
I worked for Myer as Xmas casual for the second time. My role was to interact with customers from opening to closing a sale. This includes first engaging with the customer, with a friendly greeting and then establishing their needs, whether it’s an item to purchase or a particular service. I continue to perform this service by performing the transaction in a professional and timely manner to the customer’s satisfaction and finally following up with the customer, after the sale. Some of the other skills I have achieved are cash handling, checking on current stock and keeping my working area presentable. I very much enjoyed my time at Myer, a very good company to work for, and was sad to leave.
Student Software Engineer
I worked on a solution to predict enemy vehicle movements and generate optimal interception paths for military command and control software. The software had to perform fast and accurate predictions within a scenario. In addition, the software included an interception system that can aid command decisions by presenting a refined view of otherwise complex information. The software uses Agent-based Modelling for vehicle movement simulation and a decision tree, to search for an optimal interception path.
