Do you have a problem that requires a creative solution, a system to be optimized, or need someone who can learn on their feet? I can do that and more for you as I am a PhD physicist with experience spanning:♺ Polymer Physics to 🌈 Color Science🔬 Ellipsometry to 📟 Electronics🏆 Padden Award for Polymer Physics Research to 🎼 Mary Bichner's "Synesthesia Suite" concert💻 Microprocessors to ⚖ (quartz crystal) Microbalances💡 LEDs to 📈 LeadershipPreviously I was a Research Professional with SciHub in the Department of Physics at Arizona State University. I worked with Nobel Laureate Frank Wilczek and Professor Nathan Newman to enhance perception and expand minds. I used my breadth of skills and new color expertise to develop novel products, algorithms, and artistic endeavors to help those with color blindness, enhance color vision, and expand human perception. My work at SciHub included building a fully custom LED light source with 10 color channels and 480 LEDs (HyLighter); developing advanced colorimetric and control algorithms to enhance color vision and correct color blindness using the HyLighter and other lights; developing custom hardware and software for the lighting in Mary Bichner's "Synesthesia Suite" concert at the Boston Museum of Science; designing and building a Perception Room with a 12.4 million pixel video wall, interactive projector, and fully controlled HyLighter lighting; collaborating with Brazilian artist Denise Milan on an interactive multi-sensory art exhibit; and assisting with numerous student projects involving multi- and hyper-spectral cameras, art authentication, a pocket spectrometer, augmented sensory devices, and color vision testing. My PhD work at Emory University investigated the fundamental nature of the glass transition using nanoscale polymer films. This work earned me the Frank J. Padden, Jr. Award for Excellence in Polymer Physics Research in 2014 and the Oak Ridge Associated Universities Lindau Graduate Student Award to attend the 62nd Lindau Meeting of Nobel Laureates (Physics) in Germany in 2012. My postdoc, also at Emory, tested the nanoscale boundary conditions of a liquid drop moving on a surface and allowed me to teach physics to Tibetan monks in rural India in 2016.Besides 10+ years of strong analytical research skills, I am well versed in color perception, polymer physics, soft materials, ellipsometry, quartz crystal microbalances, microscopy, programming in Python, C++, and Mathematica, electronics, rapid prototyping, science outreach, and both technical imaging and general photography.

Kinetic Art DesignerFreelance Dec 2020 - Dec 2021Chandler, Arizona, United StatesI developed an origami inspired interactive kinetic sculpture concept. It reached the finalist stage in Scottsdale Public Art's international Canal Convergence 2020 call for art. In developing the sculpture I learned CAD design, rendering, project budgeting, timeline development, supplier and manufacturer communications, and did background research on kinetic art, origami inspired design, and interactive public art.I went on to develop a scale prototype of the main kinetic sculpture component which I 3D printed. The model worked with a successful build after only one component test and adjustment.
