About Justin Sands

People have accused me of being a robot: partly because I’m quiet and absorbed in work, but mostly because of my extreme efficiency. I’m always picking up tasks that no one else wants: billing reports, inventory, etc. I always do my best to understand my tasks and the programs I use to do things in the fastest, most effective manner. I created an Excel document that reduced a laborious, 2-hour manual process to a 20-minute task. Previously, that same assignment often resulted in human errors; the worksheet completely eliminated them.I love working with clients and do everything I can to provide the best service possible. I am available 24/7 and check the emails on my phone constantly. I’ve pulled many all-nighters to make sure my urgent project is on-track to meet its deadlines. Sleep is nice, but the gratification of satisfying a client is better.Although my current role does not have direct reports, I have 4 years of supervisory experience. I lead by example and try to produce a well-rounded, hardworking team. It’s important to me to reward people for good performance, whether through favorable shift assignments, fighting for their raises, or positive reinforcement. I know it’s equally important to ensure employees who are falling behind receive accurate feedback; I’m not afraid to tell someone that they need to improve. At Deluxe, I took a management class to reinforced the skills I had acquired and pick up some great tips for the future.I try to be the best at everything I do. If there’s a measurable skill, I practice to improve my metrics. At Round Table, if the 2nd fastest person could make a particular pizza in 75 seconds, I strove to make one in 50 seconds (and succeed). If I answered 800 calls in a month in the Deluxe call center, my goal for the next month would be 850.
