I'm a Scientist II at Organogenesis in the Birmingham R&D Center.Research tasks involve supporting the Marketing department for our extensive range of wound care products (Apligraf, PuraPly, etc.). Postdoctoral/Scientist I Research at Southern ResearchI was an immunologist in the Oncology Department of the Drug Discovery Program in the lab of Dr. Rebecca J Boohaker. Research included development of small molecule inhibitors for cancer therapy (brain, colon, pancreatic, and breast) and designing/executing immunological assays for clients. Graduate ResearchI was part of Dr. Daniel C Bullard's laboratory. Our research focused on the role of the β2 integrin Mac-1 (CD11b/CD18) and how this integrin alters immune and inflammatory processes. We focused on the Itgam SNP rs1143679 (R77H) which has been found to be statistically associated with lupus through GWA studies.
