As Chief Operations officer I developed and executed the business strategy, resulting in market share growth and revenue diversification through the development of innovative transactional payments products and services. Additionally, I was responsible for cultivating new strategic partnerships with corporate and fintech partners, serving as the principal lead.Reporting directly to the CEO, I managed a team of 70 staff members, including a nationally represented sales and marketing team focused on driving sales and revenue targets in the SME, Commercial, and Corporate markets. The team also consisted of product managers, channel development managers, marketing professionals, financial analysts, and business intelligence developers, UX developers. In my role, I also oversaw operational activities, credit teams, and the project management office (PMO).Notable achievements • Successfully increased new business sales growth by 90%, with total cross product penetration increasing from 1.5 to 3.2 products per customer. • Effectively integrated and aligned the fleet business unit and its strategy into the FNB Business Banking operating model. • Introduced the first automated credit scorecard for B2B clients using fleet payment solution, this allowed us to reduce client onboarding from 10 days to 6 hours. • Reduced the cost to income ratio from 89% to 56%. This yielded a headline earnings improvement from a loss making to profitmaking.• Improved client penetration into the overall FNB Business banking base from 5% to 12.5 %.
