We launched JVB Furniture Collection in 2008 in Johannesburg, aiming to offer South Africans a sophisticated and bespoke selection of contemporary furniture designs.At JVB, we pride ourselves on attention to detail and creating a unique retail experience. Every piece in our collection is handcrafted by local artisans in South Africa, supporting the local creative industry and showcasing the exceptional talent found here.JVB Furniture Collection seeks to echo the spirit of a bygone era in its simple elegance. We aim to create elegant interiors and provide design consultations alongside exceptional customer service. Its contemporary offerings reflect the company's commitment to quality and local craftsmanship.With a small team, I am involved with managing client relationships, including those of interior designers as well as direct sales. As we outsource a large part of manufacturing, my role also involves ensuring quality and procurement, as well as the final product inspections.

Wetherlys was a high-end furniture retail brand in South Africa that operated privately until it was sold to the Ellerines Group in 2005. Known for its upscale offerings, the company ultimately suffered from mismanagement. It was eye-opening for me to see how a corporate takeover could destroy such a strong company and brand in a short period.I learned from this experience of a company being mismanaged, carrying over the improvements to starting my own business later on. The company was my entry into the world of furniture. I started as a salesperson, then moved on to become a manager, and eventually a Regional Manager. I was amazed at the demand for stylish furniture and how much Wetherlys sold. It was my first experience with a successful furniture retail brand. I learned many valuable lessons and worked with wonderful people, many of whom are still in the industry today.
