Justin is the founder of Messrs Justin Wee. Justin is a civil/criminal litigator who exhibit forceful written work and polished advocacy. He has a unique blend of experience as he has appeared in both the civil and criminal courts. He has been actively representing clients in heavily contested litigation since 2008.He is comfortable with corporate, commercial & general civil litigation and operates a hands-on approach to his briefs. Some recent engagements of note include: a. represented a subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional in a claim for commercial fraud against the former officers of the company resulting in judgment being entered for full restitution of assets dissipated;b. representing Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd and its subsidiary in a claim for fraud brought by group of Plaintiffs;c. counsel for the Nakamichi Corp Bhd; Harvest Court Bhd; and RSG MAPS Sdn Bhd boardroom tussles;d. counsel in the landmark decision in Lai Soon Onn’s case (the Panpages Dispute) which dealt with the issue of whether there is a private cause of action to compel persons acting in concert to come out with a general offer;e. counsel in one of the earliest successful application for judicial management in Malaysia; andf. counsel in representing a fully owned subsidiary of a foreign bank against a claim amounting to RM1 billion for economic torts. In the past, he has conducted briefs in relation to most aspects of corporate criminal law, with particular emphasis on defending clients facing criminal charges such as perjury, cheating, criminal breach of trust and breaches of securities legislation. He was part of the defence team in the PKFZ and Nasioncom criminal trials. He was also a member of the prosecution team in the inquest into the death of the late Teoh Beng Hock.He has appeared at all levels of trial courts and also handled appellate briefs. He acts both in an advisory capacity and as an advocate, or as part of a team of advocates.Justin was one of the contributing editors to the maiden edition of the Malaysian White Book. Since then, he has been regularly invited to be a contributing editor to the prestigious Malaysian White Book publication.
