Accomplishments include:• Passage of the Electronic Security and Targeting of Online Predators Act (e-STOP), the nation’s most comprehensive legislation to deal with the threat of sexual predators on the Internet.• Successful partnership with the College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering to hold a first-ever conference focused on the development of common nanotechnology-enabled platforms that drive innovation and spur commercial opportunities in a the nanoelectronics, health care, energy, defense and aerospace industries.• Lead a successful coalition to defeat an onerous Radio Frequency Identification bill in New Hampshire that would have banned the use of these devices in asset and identity management products impeding the industries growth in the United States. • Successfully built grassroots support in the Northeast for the America COMPETES Act through the use of social media tools, presentations to constituencies and meetings with key members of Congress.

Directed the activities of the Albany County Partnership’s (ACRCC & County of Albany, NY) efforts to develop and implement policies and programs that would act as a catalyst to economic growth through the use of economic development tools including grant package development, empire zone designations, tax abatements, low-interest loans and shovel ready sites.Accomplishments include: • Played an integral role in the development and implementation of a regional technology marketing strategy (Tech Valley) that led to the creation of thousands of high-tech jobs and $2.5 billion in regional investments.• Successfully stimulated venture capital investments in the Tech Valley region by organizing a $100,000 business plan competition that provided funding to emerging technology ventures and attracted numerous venture capital investments into the region.• Worked with the Albany County Executive and private developers to identify and ultimately award a $1.5 million infrastructure investment grant to stimulate the development of a shovel ready technology park in Albany County.

Coordinated the activities of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership’s government affairs agenda.
