The focus of this position is to facilitate, coach, and guide the internal development and deployment of Alcoa Business Systems (ABS) tools and skills, with focus on serving customer demand by emphasizing the elimination of all waste. Responsibilities include:- coaches a pre-specified help chain (business partners) for various levels of operations management- teaches ABS principles and facilitates the application of those principles within his/her assigned areas- works with operations customers in developing and implementing an overall strategy and experiment plan to improve operations, delivery, and quality while continuously reducing inventory

General Summary:Provide support for the Paint Lab quality system in order to promote and control the quality of manufacturing to fulfill the internal and external customer expectations to therefore meet business targets. Provide advanced quality planning support in the development and launch of new products and processes and to help maintain these systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:· Perform activities related to successful completion of ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report)· Ensure compliance of policies and procedures· Build and maintain good working relationships with Team Members and management· Initiate and complete reports tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other administrative tasks as required· Inform of any internal and external quality problems to the inspection line and improve the inspection process · Execute special projects for production support activities· Participate in forecasting and forward planning activities· Enforce the basic requirements of a quality system within an automotive manufacturing environment· Review the paint data and implement improvement activities · Identify critical quality characteristics of automotive manufacturing· Troubleshoot quality issues to determine root cause and develop countermeasures· Support production in development of temporary and long-term countermeasures· Communicate effectively at various levels of the organization and with external customers and suppliers· Assure customer satisfaction for both our internal and external customers by maintaining and improving the quality of supplied material· Provide quality planning in the areas of 100% inspection, sample inspection and audits

Paint Engineering Co-op-Introduced life cycle economic analysis techniques to improve the selection process for Carbon Concentrator systems, resulting in an overall savings of more than $500,000- Created a dynamic employee team approach within the plant which has resulted in significant contributions to strategic planning, technical problem solving, and employee morale- Researched and installed energy saving humidifier equipment for the paint shop- Built a paint sludge filtration device to generate cost savings and adhere to safety regulations- Analyzed and redesigned workstations in the Paint Shop Training Center which gave management a more accurate evaluation for the trainees- Investigated the use of paint sludge in coal burning power plants as supplement fuel- Supervised the implementation of a new paint color for the 2009 Toyota Tundra
