I am trained as a molecular biologist with a diverse background including engineering, chemistry, executive management, leadership, non-profit work, writing, and improvisational theater. I currently manage a small company in the food testing industry, giving industry and educational talks and working with clients around the world to ensure proper labeling and safety of their products.As an engineer at BellSouth, I was in charge of designing and implementing of equipment to increase capacity of existing infrastructure. I was then trained as a molecular biologist while establishing myself as a resource and trainer for real-time RT-PCR data analysis, interpretation, and writing as well as a person to help develop new ideas in my lab and others. I am always interested in learning about new areas of research and providing new discoveries to the scientific community through education and publication. My interest in driving progress and conveying information has spilled over beyond science. I co-founded and still help lead a non-profit dedicated advocacy and inclusion within the Boy Scouts of America. Through this effort, I have had the opportunity to work with people across the country while directly improving the lives and opportunities for America's youth.Much of the last 20 years includes training or teaching others, but specific experience includes:~10 years C-level/executive management7+ years of scientific writing (personally authored 11 manuscripts and 6+ grants)15+ years in management/leadership across corporate, academic, and non-profit areas4 years teaching laboratory science and biochemistry to medical and premedical students2 years as a telecommunications engineer1 patent Science, education, strategy, analysis, innovation, progress, personal development, and helping others are the areas from which I draw my motivation. I am always looking for new applications of my skills and chances to learn new skills.
