At Compassion I currently hold the role of technology development manager and lead a team of 5 people. I have built this team up over the 8 years, starting as a graduate software developer my skills as a leader were quickly recognised and I have gained a respect for system design and engineering both locally and Internationally among Compassion’s global partners.The role of technology development manager had me focusing on the entire application suite. Including becoming a domain expert in our core system COMPASS (a custom ERP) as well as a CRM and website expert. With this broad range of technical skills I have become a key person in the design and strategy of all application infrastructure in Compassion Australia.Our most successful project to date was around the implementation of a messaging service platform to coordinate business processes for automation and simplicity. The service orientated design combined with lean process management and continuous delivery where key success factors to the project driven by myself and the technology development team. This project had us delivering into production approximately every 2 weeks and focusing on the most valuable pieces for the ministry at each time. This project also delivered PCI compliance providing a safe mechanism for credit card data to be stored. The largest project that I have been involved in at Compassion is that of the start-up venture of Compassion Singapore. I played the role of technical project manager in which I managed a significant budget and the work of up to 12 people dedicated to the project. The technical aspects of the project delivered some real success.I have also been involved in designing and building many small applications and integrations including a robust EFT processing system, receipting and statements, delinquent monitoring systems and the corporate website.
