Fairing manufacturing using composites.- Used CNC to create the fairing mold out of expanded polystyrene- Prepped mold surface. Applied: styro safe primer, styro safe resin, fiberglass reinforcement with styro safe resin, surface primer, and top coat- Layed up two layers of unidirectional carbon fiber using a +- 45 ply with Soric flexible core reinforcement- The fairing is currently still in the build process.Blind Spot System.-Designed blind spot system circuit. The circuit features a lithium polymer battery, flexible solar cell, LIPO charging circuit, DC-DC boost converter, LED's, two 42kHz ultrasonic sensors and a Texas Instruments MSP430 microcontroller.-Programmed the TI-MSP430 using the C based coding language in the Energia prototyping platform.-The distance is determined using the sensors pulse width output. Frame design and manufacturing.- Designed frame using SolidWorks- Designed welding fixture in SolidWorks using 80/20 T-slot extruded aluminum- Used CNC mandrel bender to bend frame tubes- Used a universal notcher to notch frame tubing Show less
