As Vice President of Business Development, my role was more than sales and marketing. I assisted in expanding the footprint of the organization as well as focused on relationship building and innovation, not selling. I also assisted in the successful launch of a national direct contracting program, The Keep It Simple Surgery (KISx) Card. This solution has been recognized and utilized by dozens of brokerage firms nationally driving innovation as well as high quality, affordable access to Surgery, Imaging, Dialysis and more. In November of 2019, KISx Card was recognized by HHS, CMS and the White House.

I was recruited by Special Risk via one of my clients at Morgan Stanley. In my role I represented international and domestic employers to the insurance marketplace for their employee benefit contracts, specializing in the placement and management of corporate sponsored employee benefits, employee paid benefits as well as benefits technology. I worked closely with the C-Suite, Risk Management and HR departments to understand their business and objectives. My role also consisted of national thought leadership on specific niche coverages including Accidental Death & Dismemberment including Voluntary, Stand-Alone Basic and Business Travel coverages for large populations. My responsibilities included building and maintaining relationships with key accounts of 5,000 or more employees. I developed benefit enhancement strategies, plans and programs in support of client Human Resources and Benefits departments, and ensured accurate and timely financial and government reporting. I was also responsible for the design of publications, training, newsletters and other marketing materials using multiple mediums to sell various insurance products to current and prospective clients; utilized Constant Contact, Salesforce and LinkedIn. Presented webinars and in-person training and presentations to demonstrate product value and provide thought leadership. Speaker at national conferences as well as regional seminars regarding various benefit issues. Continuously evaluated ways to enhance client programs, carrier relationships & educational programming for clients. Prepared in-depth Requests for Proposals (RFPs) working collaboratively with underwriting.
