I am a health care professional and health care leader with 23 years' experience in senior clinical and managerial positions. Originally an Intensive Care Nurse in the UK, My roles include 3 years as Manager of the Transplant Coordinator Team at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, 3 years as Clinical Risk Manager at Peter McCallum Cancer Centre, 4 years as Nurse Unit Manager at Western Health as Stroke and Neurology Unit Manager, and 3 years at the Department of Justice and Community Safety as Director of Clinical Governance. Most recently I spent 7 years on the Executive Leadership Team with G4S at Port Phillip Prison providing strategic oversight to health, mental health, clinical services, drug and alcohol, and offending behaviour program service development and delivery within a correctional environment, I am currently the National Health Services Manager for The GEO Group Australia, responsible for the oversight and delivery of health care contracts across the GEO Group business. I am passionate about patient safety and how human factors relate to this, and in developing innovative and responsive systems to monitor and improve outcomes. I have been involved in a range of new health initiatives and building projects and the associated operating model development and implementation plans, and I am experienced in working within very complex, high risk, commercial environments with budget responsibility. I have extensive experience in negotiating change and relationships with external and internal stakeholders in both the correctional and health care industries and in managing diverse teams.
