PUBLIC LAWIn public law proceedings I act for local authorities, guardians, parents, grandparents and interveners. I have much experience in cases of this nature representing clients at contested removal hearings, interim hearings and fully contested final hearings. I have also dealt with special guardianship, adoption and revocation of placement orders. My cases cover issues such as capacity, mental illness, domestic violence, suspected physical abuse, drug and alcohol problems, neglect and emotional harm.I appeared on behalf of a local authority in the care proceedings arising out of the systematic torture and murder of Daniel Pelka. I was junior to John Vater QC during the fact finding hearing before going on to represent the local authority alone at the disclosure hearing and final hearing.PRIVATE LAWI have a strong private law children practice. I have undertaken work in a wide range of private law matters including section 8 and schedule 1 applications under the Children Act 1989, representing parents, guardians, other family members and carers. I have experience in private law fact finding hearings including those concerning alleged sexual abuse, domestic violence and parental alienation.INJUNCTION PROCEEDINGS Another key part of my practice is representing clients in injunction proceedings under the Family Law Act 1996. I have experience in both ex parte hearings and contested hearings. I understand that clients facing an order forcing them out of their home and clients who are driven to apply for such orders out of fear are often very upset and stressed. I try to provide a listening ear during the turmoil whilst at the same time ensuring my clients know their prospects of success and the options available to them.
