TMC Operations-Works closely with the TMC operators to coordinate events, incident responses and manage traffic to make the most efficient use of the transportation facilities. -Works with the PASSAGE system integrator and their staff to keep the ATMS improving. -Monitors and resolves traffic operational issues. Traffic Signal & ITS Operations-Ensures that timing plans are accurate and efficient by creating proactive approaches rather than historical reactive approaches. -Modifies traffic signal timing to account for changes in traffic patterns, including new developments, construction projects and advanced traffic signal operations (traffic responsive and adaptive operations)-Responsible for creating enhancements to the ITS program to increase efficiencies for traffic signal operations and arterial operations management. -Working towards implementing connected vehicle technology (vehicle to infrastructure or V2I) with an emphasis on reducing delay and emissions. Traffic Signal Design-Reviews and comments on plans, specifications, traffic impact studies and signal warrants to ensure compliance with County and State design policies and guidelines. -Reviews and comments on ITS network diagrams to ensure proper expansion of the ITS network, including fiber, wireless and cellular communications. -Maintains and updates the traffic signal specifications as requirements and technologies change.
