Since 1939, AOPA has protected the freedom to fly by creating an environment that gives people of all ages an opportunity to enjoy aviation and all it has to offer. The Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association is an organization formed (a) to encourage the knowledge and understanding of aviation law; to promote spirit of fellowship within those of legal profession who have the interest of both lawyer and a pilot in the science or administration of aviation law; (b) to promote cooperation with governmental and other organizations so as to enhance general aviation safety and to offer to both governmental and civil agencies, the special knowledge and skill of its members so as to assist such agencies in the performance of their functions in the development of aviation law.

Angel Flight West is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that arranges free, non-emergency air travel for children and adults with serious medical conditions and other compelling needs. Its network of 1,600 command pilots throughout the 13 western states donate their aircraft, piloting skills, and all flying costs to help families in need, enabling them to receive vital treatment that might otherwise be inaccessible because of financial, medical, or geographic limitations.

Co-built an AirCam kit from Lockwood Aviation, learning more about airframe construction and electrical systems while building upon knowledge gained through performing owner assisted maintenance and annuals in certificated aircraft.
