Jetset Journalists tells meaningful stories around the world. I co-founded the company and research interesting people and places across the globe, set up shoots, and am a part of all aspects of production. I shoot, interview, research, write and edit short documentaries from two to five minutes, sometimes also hosting and narrating the pieces. Stories include the largest ice festival in the world in China, how the pandemic affected oyster farming in Namibia and what one woman is doing to help soldiers at the Armenia-Azerbaijan frontlines.

From pitch to post-production and everything in between, I shoot, edit, write, produce and report on camera under tight deadlines for multiple stories a day broadcast on TV. I also work with photographers when reporting live from the scene of breaking news such as fires, shootings and natural disasters, covering the El Chapo case in federal court and the Bronx-Lebanaon Hospital shooting. Cultivating sources in the community and city agencies, I often get exclusives and report on national stories on-set and in-studio. I train new reporters and use social media in reporting and to interact with viewers.

Charlotte, North Carolina Area

As a general assignment one-woman-band reporter, I produced video stories on deadline for the Charlotte Observer’s website during my six-month fellowship. I covered breaking news as well as enterprise stories, politics, sports, culture, education and more. I reported on President Obama, presidential candidates and local officials throughout campaign season. I produced multiple stories a day during the protests following the police killing of Keith Lamont Scott, Hurricane Matthew and Election Day. I worked on special projects and investigations including LGBTQ discrimination and the N.C. prison system. I also did more than 30 Facebook lives and used social media to find sources and promote stories, leading to more than 300,000 video views in six months and a more than 400 percent increase in Twitter followers. My videos have also been used by outlets such as ESPN and CBS. I used Chartbeat when planning and implementing the company’s video strategy and trained reporters and editors from four newsrooms on technical video shooting and editing skills as well as reporting best practices. I also was interviewed live on Fox News by Neil Cavuto and a variety of international news channels from Israeli i24 news to Canadian National TV. More than two dozen of my photographs have been featured throughout the newspaper, some on the Sunday A1 page. I won a newsroom award for my video about a woman giving her fiance a kidney.

Previously the Business Development & Marketing Manager, I increased sales and brand visibility through marketing strategies and SEO-optimized content. Managing press coverage, I fostered relationships with the media and facilitated shoots during pre-production and on site. I cultivated strategic collaborations with brands like SoulCycle and Physique 57 and played a key role in partnerships with companies such as Quaker and PepsiCo. I also wrote and produced content for TV segments, web series and appearances at events such as Tedx talks. I created all copy and images for all social media platforms, gaining over 100 times more followers and 'likes'. I also developed the entire catering program for the company and planned and executed over 50 events, creating an entirely new stream of revenue. As of 2015, I advised on strategic business decisions and oversaw social media campaigns.

I worked for up to eight days at a time during several New York Fashion Weeks preparing for the runway show and then dressing and styling models for market week at the company headquarters. The clothing was shown to many high-profile buyers from stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Barney's and I was responsible for setting the showroom and maintaining the sample clothing for these clients.

I worked for a variety of production companies in the office and on-set on commercials for brands such as Jaguar, Intel and Nickelodeon. I managed talent, including A-list celebrities, children and groups of up to 100 people. Dealing with budgeting and location logistics, styling props and assisting the camera department, were among my other responsibilities.

For this website all about the side streets of Manhattan, I interviewed small business owners and community members and wrote articles about their stories and businesses. I also photographed New York landmarks, businesses and their proprietors and conducted research and fact-checking on deadline.

At this boutique firm, I coordinated and designed all aspects of catering such as custom menu proposals, staffing, permits, COIs, timelines, floor plans, rental and beverage orders and vendor and payment management. For each event, I conducted site visits and supervised events at venues from MOMA to private penthouses. Working on social, corporate and non-profit events, my clients included Versace, Prada, Goldman Sachs, Turner Broadcasting, Spotify, Verizon and Remy Cointreau.

I created and maintained the restaurant group's special event and social media programs for all locations and oversaw all other Event Coordinators, as well as 50 other restaurant employees. I analyzed declining events sales and developed and implemented marketing methods that more than doubled bookings and sales for special events and catering. I was responsible for all event and catering requests from inquiry to completion including over 130 events such as rehearsal dinners, celebrity birthday parties and corporate functions. I compiled sales data, performance reports and quarterly goals to be presented to the board and designed and implemented the Event Coordinator and Host training programs. I worked here from September 2009-January 2010 and then September 2010-July 2011.

Bangkok Metropolitan Area, Thailand

As a TESOL-certified English teacher, I taught fourth graders at a private school on the outskirts of Bangkok. I put together lesson plans, instructed several classes each day of up to 40 students each and developed innovative teaching strategies that led to a rise in grades. I also assisted in coordinating book fairs, art projects and philanthropic field trips.

I assisted in the organization and execution of conferences, receptions, dinners and high-profile events at the university and off-site. Participants included students and faculty as well as community leaders, celebrities and world leaders like the Dalai Lama. I obtained proposals for catering, rentals and travel and negotiated prices, coming in well below budget. I launched online and print marketing campaigns for first-time events, resulting in hundreds of attendees and was the only student on several high-level university committees.

I wrote press releases and promotional materials that were distributed across California and increased awareness, event participation and fundraising. I coordinated numerous aspects of events such as raffles, donations, volunteers and auctions and worked at fundraisers such as golf tournaments and luncheons, raising thousands of dollars.

During this summer-long internship, I planned and budgeted client and employee parties, meetings and incentive events. I conducted venue research and site visits and created presentations for VP-level executives. Generating invoices and collecting payment from clients and vendors, I liaised with accounts payable and expense management. I also had office responsibilities including copying, filing, faxing, phones and organizing.

In addition to the general hostess responsibilities of greeting and seating guests, selling gift cards, processing to-go orders and taking reservations, I also sold and monitored retail inventory and planned out the restaurant floor each night. I excelled in our initial sales training and became a top fundraiser during my time at the Fund, raising over $30,000 for the university in only four months.
