I joined the EHRC to lead a change programme in a challenging employee relations climate. The key areas of focus were twofold: leading the development and implementation of a business transformation programme to develop the organisational culture and align the strategy, structures and people; and restructuring and refocusing the HR team to improve effectiveness and add value to the business. I later added to my HR portfolio, to include finance and procurement. I led the development and implementation of their first people strategy and took a lead role in the design and delivery of an ambitious business transformation programme, aligning strategy, structure, and people for maximum effectiveness. I also managed various other teams through periods of transition (programme office, IM&T, facilities). I was responsible for the management of a payroll budget of around £10m and additional budgets of a further £1m.
