Working with the Future of Cities team with regenerative placemaking projects in Jacksonville, Miami and Portugal. My role is working with the research team to develop sustainability framework, collect and analyze measurable data and establishing benchmarks for projects which align with ESG frameworks like the UN SDGs. I am also working in various roles helping with grant writing, developing AI tools for good and building data collection tools. Very excited to be a part of this revolutionary team.

Justin serves on the Advisory Board of IDEAS for Us. IDEAS For Us (IDEAS) is an Orlando-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and an accredited NGO of the United Nations. Our mission is to develop ideas, fund action, and scale solutions that solve the world’s most pressing environmental and social challenges. Since 2008, IDEAS has been guided by a vision to contribute to a future where humanity thrives in harmony with nature and in peace with one another. We take action across all branches in the focus areas of: energy, water, food, waste, & ecology. We have branches in Africa, Asia, Europe, & throughout Florida. Through this organization, thousands of volunteers have taken action in over 30 countries around the world and continue to evolve by specializing in helping cities advance sustainability at the local level through environmental projects, community action programs, and eco-enterprises.

For the past couple of years, Justin has worked with communities both offline and online to improve their sustainability while lowering their impact on the environment and local cultures. During COVID 19, he began developing the Blue Community Assessment App to allow Destination Communities around the world set baselines for their sustainability efforts and track their progress over time, while engaging stake holders and building best practices. The Blue Community App makes the entire process of sustainability certification and audit virtual, through the ability to provide documentation and evidence of claims streamlined through the app, increasing accountability and transparency on a community level.Justin Farrow is focused on building communities around collaborative mitigation of sustainability issues, both on land and at sea... He is definitely not your average webmaster. A former graduate student and Professor's Assistant to Dr. Randle at Patel College of Global Sustainability at University of South Florida. As a graduate student, Justin was the Webmaster for Patel College of Global Sustainability while he earned a Masters in Sustainable Tourism and a Masters for Entrepreneurship in Sustainability. As an undergraduate student, he earned both a Bachelors Degree in Cultural Anthropology and a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy & Religious Studies from the College of Charleston. Justin has been on the Board for Blue Community, Waves of Change and the Whale Center since 2014 and serves as the IT Director for Blue Community programs and initiatives.

Originally founded in March of 2007, LSU was the first-of-its-kind global social support platform for professional land surveyors and geodesists worldwide, where frictionless geocollaboration is the coin of the realm. I build web connections for the greatest film festival on planet Earth, BLUE Ocean Film Festival. My journey with BLUE started out as an internship. It aligned with my graduate skill goals at the Patel College of Global Sustainability. That internship and its mission became my job. All of BLUE’s activities and goals are driven by our fundamental belief that film is the most powerful tool we have available to engage a broad global audience in a direct way that educates them about the ocean, creates a better understanding of complex issues, and empowers positive next steps. BLUE is dedicated to PROMOTING, HONORING, and SHARING great ocean films.

Beautiful Nation is an online education project designed to encourage young people, ages 6-18, to develop deep connections with our earth and with each other. Working in partnership with leading geography education nonprofit Reach the World and world class science education nonprofit Agastya, Beautiful Nation will use 21st Century tools and the timeless art of storytelling to build an online community of global citizens, eager to explore and fall in love with our planet! The crew will report in real-time via media-rich articles and videos published online in the Beautiful Nation Social Network and the Reach the World global journalism website, while working with experts and educators in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) disciplines to share research data on the effects of marine debris. In addition, the crew will report on traditional ways of life in the communities that Makulu visits. Beautiful Nation reaches an audience of over one million students (ages 6-18) per year through its partnerships. Pre-departure, students in the Reach the World program in New York City will be welcomed to tour the ship and meet the crew. Subsequently, the ship will arrive in Chennai, India to meet Agastya's students half-way through the voyage. Throughout the duration of the voyage, in addition to posting online content, the crew will interact with students via messaging and videoconferencing to field questions in real-time. Webisodes documenting the crew's land explorations, including various UNESCO World Heritage sites, and life at sea, with a strong focus on sustainability, sustainable tourism and marine ecology, which are published monthly to support core learning in the classroom.

I have recently been named Creative Outreach Coordinator for America's Building Records, which involves community management of America's builders, surveyors, architects and engineers, coordination of creative marketing and social media management. ABR is the first of its kind National GIS system for making building plans and built environment documents accessible online. ABR is a sustainability startup as it will ultimately reduce the amount of paper used to reproduce blueprints and the environmental footprint of reprographics distribution.

I was the school webmaster and a TA for 2 graduate school professors. I am very proud of what i managed to accomplish during my time at PCGS. I started with a broken website, zero social media presence, old flyers, no followers and an ugly blog. Over the course of a single year (while also taking classes) I mixed, merged and converted almost all of the media distributed by and about the school. During my time the web presence and engagement of Patel College increased by 11,000%.

During my time as an undergraduate at College of Charleston, I supported myself as a hard working bell hop at this historic bed and breakfast in Downtown Charleston. While I was there we acheived the honor of Relais and Chateaux designation.

After high school, i took a couple of years off before starting undergrad at College of Charleston. During this time, I worked as a land surveyor for South Star Surveying which was a company owned by Thomas and Hutton Engineering.
