Staff Manufacturing EngineerTe Connectivity Jun 2021 - Oct 2023Galway, IeCreated an excel based data collection and reporting system for Pre-SAP product lines. Also created the foundation for an SAP accessing Tableau system. The combination of these projects are estimated to save the site over $3.5MM in the first year of their use at full scale. Informal leader for both manufacturing and process development. Direct support for sites highest grossing product lines in various roles. Hydrophilic dip coating lead engineer. -
Sr. Mfg & Process Development EngineerTe Connectivity Apr 2019 - Jun 2021Galway, Ie2020: Successfully completed and passed first in-house HPC DV activity. Working with multidisciplinary intercompany team to finish process validations. Supporting 5 unique development projects during Covid-19 pandemic, on site full time until November, when we switched to a blocked schedule. Statistics site leader for NPD - extensive use of process capability analysis and education. Member of PFMEA SME team - initiative to standardize risk management methodologies between Galway, IE and Minnesota sites. Currently planning first round of training Generally hitting my stride as an engineer. Looking forward to the future. 2019: Current project is bringing Hydrophilic dip coating to this facility. Working closely with Surmodics on process development. Supporting R&D projects for DFM, process development, pilot lines, and phase gates for product transfer to operations. -
Process Development Engineer IiAbbott Feb 2017 - Mar 2019Abbott Park, Illinois, UsSupported the TactiCath SE 5th generation catheter being built in Plymouth, MN. Process owner for 3 high yield catheter assembly processes. Development work focuses on force sensing fiber signal quality and variation, and new adhesive characterization to reduce a high cost scrap. Former process owner of PI curing equipment used during the manufacturing of our CardioMEMS implantable device. Reduces cycle time to allow a 300% improvement in throughput. One of three engineers tasked with development of the manufacturing process for a non-irrigated AF ablation catheter. Process owner for all automated equipment and worked towards qualifying said equipment before DV builds start. Developed and executed DoEs for optical fiber plasma stripping to allow this new process to be implemented in a next generation AF ablation catheter, and to also be incorporated into the current gen device to eliminate the need for an expensive and high risk acid bath process. This work was completed within 3 months time, and has reduced capital equipment costs by over $80k per manufacturing line. -

Process Development EngineerSt. Jude Medical Jun 2015 - Jan 2017St. Paul, Minnesota, UsSt Jude Medical was purchased by Abbott in 2017. Includes international travel to Costa Rica and Ireland. Supporting Pressurewire X, Quadra Excel, Dragonfly, and G4 devices. Research for the G4 catheter investigating Optical Fiber non-conformances used for the force sensing technology of the device. -
Visiting Instructor For Mechanical EngineeringWilkes University Aug 2014 - May 2015Wilkes-Barre, Pa, UsMy responsibilities included teaching several sections of a CADD Laboratory, Statics and Dynamics I, and Mechanical Design Laboratory. In addition to these classes, I was also an adviser to several undergraduate students. I had also continued my consulting work with the local private school Wyoming Seminary by helping with their Robotics Club initiative.I was also a faculty adviser for a senior research project which aimed to build a small hobbyists scale Selective Laser Sintering 3D printer. The students all received high marks for their work, and given enough time would have developed a working prototype. -
Graduate Assistant In Biomedical EngineeringWilkes University Jun 2012 - May 2014Wilkes-Barre, Pa, UsI was the first student to graduate from Wilkes Univ. with a Master's degree in Bioengineering with a concentration in Biomedical Engineering. I started my M.S. directly after my undergraduate graduation in 2012 as a research assistant for the engineering department, specifically the surgical robotics program. In my third semester I earned the opportunity to teach three of my own classes for the Univ.'s CAD laboratory. The course covered: Mechanical drawing concepts, AutoCAD drawing techniques, and SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling. During my final semester I taught a senior level undergraduate laboratory for vibrating systems. The labs were designed to show the important concepts of harmonic oscillating systems by performing simple experiments with springs and cantilevered beams primarily. Each report performed by the students incorporated deriving the mathematics behind these systems by using differential equation techniques, and were written to improve their technical writing skills. -
InternDiamond Manufacturing Company Jun 2011 - Aug 2011Wyoming, Pennsylvania, UsI mostly became familiar with being an engineer in an office environment as well as in a manufacturing plant. My daily tasks included processing orders for parts that have been made and filed previously, and creating new AutoCAD files based on customer specifications. Some large projects that I accomplished included: taking stock on the tools for the presses, quality assurance for a non-conforming outsourced process, backing up the computers which ran the presses, and general intern projects (moving office equipment, going to local shops for needed supplies, etc.).
