After demonstrating my skills and dedication as a Science Interpreter, I transitioned to the role of Education Supervisor at Manuels River. In this new capacity, I oversee the creation and management of educational programs that spark curiosity and inspire a love for science. My responsibilities now include grant writing, funding reports, and financial reports, securing essential funds to support and grow our offerings. I also lead educational initiatives, ensuring our programs are accessible and engaging for all age groups, and work to expand community outreach and support through creative educational opportunities.

I manage and develop custom WordPress sites, ensuring that our website runs smoothly and meets the needs of our audience. Recently, I took on the role of Project Manager and Full Stack Web Developer for the Manuels River Interactive Tour web application. This project combines Material-UI, TypeScript, and other modern technologies to create an engaging and informative digital experience for visitors, connecting them to the rich natural history of the area.

As a Science Interpreter, I drew upon my geology background to develop, set up, and lead educational programs for all ages, including K-12 school programs, creating Innovation Spaces, Coding Clubs, Maker Clubs, and geological workshops. I managed our WordPress website, created marketing content, and provided technical support for AV equipment, computers, and other educational technology. I also trained staff and served on the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) committee, conducting safety inspections and ensuring a secure learning environment for staff and visitors.

After successfully developing the initial prototype, I continued working on the Saint Mary’s University project to build an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) for the interactive digital campus map. Using React, JavaScript, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS, I enhanced the map’s functionality and usability, creating a user-friendly tool to help students, faculty, and visitors navigate the campus. The MVP includes detailed information about campus buildings, departments, and services, further improving accessibility and engagement.

In a contract role with Saint Mary’s University, I developed a working prototype for an interactive campus map under tight deadlines. Using React, JavaScript, and TailwindCSS, I created a functional and easy-to-use map to help users navigate the campus. This prototype served as an essential foundation for the MVP, showcasing key features and interactive elements that enhance user engagement and accessibility.
