Justin began his professional career in the IT field clear back in the summer of 1997 when he worked for INX, a dial-up internet provider based out of Rushville, IL. He worked on a help desk team that assisted internet users out of New York, New York across all available platforms at the time: Windows 95, Windows 3.1, and Macintosh System 7.After that summer, Justin attended Western Illinois University for four years studying computer programming with a minor in Graphic Design, and graduated in December of 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. After graduating, Justin continued work with the family construction business. Along with building houses, in his off-time, he built and maintained the company's website and would also do 3-D modeling of blueprints, rendering real-life examples and walk throughs of homes before they were built.In 2005, Justin was hired by First State Bank of Western Illinois based out of LaHarpe, IL as a Technician and was soon promoted to Network Administrator. At First State, Justin quickly learned how to operate and manage a network environment through efficient data processing and network security management. In 2007, Justin was offered and accepted the position of Systems Administrator at Farm & Home Supply in Quincy, IL. Based on what he learned at First State, Justin completely overhauled Farm & Home's network environment, upgrading their security practices through PCI DSS standards while transforming their systems to be more efficient and better suited for disaster recovery. During his time with Farm & Home Supply, Justin was promoted to Director of Information Technology before deciding to relocate to Colorado Springs in 2018 after over 11 years with Farm & Home.In 2018, Justin joined the IT team at Pike's Peak Library District where he remains serving the district's staff and patrons and the community today!
