As a Media Asset Manager at CBS Sports Network, my responsibility is to contribute to the sports television productions we have here at the company. In order to do so, my department works primarily to provide footage to the production teams to make that happen. During the week, we provide on air support to studio Associate Directors and Broadcast Associates as they look to feed in a certain shot or segment to record. During off air portions of the week, I help to ingest footage, operate tape decks, send and distribute files for editing, and even cut some footage down if need be. All of this happens as files are both archived and managed on a digital level as well. I also work to restore and trans-code files using Adobe Premiere programs.

As both a tape archivist and digital media specialist at CBS Sports, my primary role is to provide the sports production team (consisting of broadcast associates, directors, and producers) with the necessary means to compose a show, live sporting event, or feature piece. This is accomplished by providing specific tape footage, digital media files, or any form of recording stock to production (DVDs, drives, tapes) all while managing this footage on a digital file level as well as an extensive tape library. When off-air on weekdays, my job is to fulfill requests from CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network employees who need to get their hands on said footage for upcoming sporting events. We also work directly in aid to other networks outside of the company, such as ESPN, Fox Sports, NBC Sports, smaller sports companies, and news outlets. We also act as a direct contact to the remote trucks at the game sites, where we are in constant communication with them when footage is needed live on air, and footage is being sent back to the broadcast center in New York to archive in proper locations. Other special projects are also part of my daily work schedule. I was charged with analyzing NFL Films footage and logging information on various clips of merit that could be potentially used in the year of Super Bowl 50 on CBS. For the 2016 Men's NCAA College Basketball Tournament, I supervised a team of press conference loggers in attempt to capture great moments of interest and emotion in both pre and post game press coverage that could then in turn be used on air in come capacity.

During the first two rounds of the NCAA Division I Men's College Basketball Tournament, I logged both pregame and postgame press conferences into a system called SportsTrack, which is an account of the questions from reporters, answers from players, and responses from a team's head coach, that appear. The primary goal of this position was to capture emotion, controversy, and interesting storylines from the pressers that could then be used in another capacity by other CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network staff, particularly on air.
