My IT team of 9 team members encompass both traditional office IT, Production Systems (MES), and Controls Engineering. In this role, I manage 24x7 operations, applications, infrastructure for four Tier 1 JIT Manufacturing facilities with a team of on-site developers and support specialists.I take full ownership of my sites. It is important to me to know every detail about them because I feel that I cannot properly support something unless I understand all aspects of it. IT can provide gains in efficiency to all areas of business, but only if we know where to look. I teach my staff to have the “know your customer” mentality.I always look for ways to bring cost savings that I have seen in other facilities, companies, and other industries to the facilities that I work with. I have pushed my sites to have the lowest operating budgets while pushing to be the best in classI develop my staff to treat every task with urgency and ownership. I lead the BNC Jaycees through a year of foundation building. As a new organization a major goal we have is finding the right format for our members. We have worked hard to set firm, fair, and consistent policies. We have continually tweaked our meetings to make them fun and efficient. We have continually retooled our calendar to develop a schedule of events that gives our members a good mix of fund raising, self development, and community development.We established our second signature event. Our BNC Chili Cookoff yielded us attention from multiple media outlets, established relationships with many community leaders, and brought us new members. +11 since SeptemberMy personal goal for our group is the development of new community leaders. I make it a habit of encouraging less experienced leaders to chair events. I show them how to organize their event, how to find the resources they need, and provide them help as needed. Though often overlooked, I teach my members that a failure can be a success.
