Served in various roles within the organization, became President and CEO in 2009;• Responsible for managing the economic development program serving Shiawassee County, MI.• Provide customized services to existing businesses in Shiawassee County, encouraging retention and expansion of jobs and capital investment in the community. Major current focus is on talent initiatives.• Direct a marketing program aimed at identifying Shiawassee County as an ideal business destination with targeted companies, real estate brokers, developers, etc. and provide follow up support to prospective interests.• Coordinate a public relations effort to gain organizational support from program funders, community leaders, economic development peers, and the public at large.• Report directly to a Board of Directors, coordinating the implementation of a strategic plan and budget (currently $400,000 annually) and oversee activities of one full-time and one part-time staff member.
