Justin Banda, Associate AIA, WELL AP is a Chicago-based architectural designer and early professional on the licensure track with over 8 years of experience working in the K-12, higher education, and transportation practice areas. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies (B.A.A.S.) degree in 2015, and subsequently his Master of Architecture (M.Arch) with a concentration in Sustainable Design in 2017, both from Judson University. Justin currently works as a project associate for diverse education and transit clients such as CPS and Metra at Legat Architects in Chicago. From 2019 through the program’s end in 2021, he led the company’s annual Think Tank symposium as program chair. At present, Justin serves on the AIA Illinois Board of Directors as the inaugural Early Professionals Director, and recently served on the AIA Chicago Board of Directors as the 2021-2022 Associate Director. Past advocacy efforts included serving as the 2020-2022 chair of the chapter’s Young Architects Forum (YAF), and as the Chicago delegate to the AIA Illinois Emerging Professionals Network. Justin is connected to many local and national licensure advocacy communities through his own ARE journey, and has been a guest and speaker for a diverse array of organizations. In his free time, he enjoys playing a wide array of sports, including ultimate frisbee, volleyball, dodgeball, cycling, and swimming, with local LGBTQ leagues and clubs.Please, no solicitation.
