Justin Kain is the Managing Partner of HPP Equity LLC and oversees all aspects of acquisition, financing, investor relations, business development and management across a diverse group of portfolio’s located near Notre Dame in South Bend Indiana. The HPP family of companies have acquired $100M of assets in the SFR, multi-family, and student housing asset classes. These portfolios include nearly 500 SFR’s and multi-family units and over 900 beds of student housing serving Notre Dame’s off campus housing needs. HPP intends to grow to $250M in assets across 2,000 units by 2025. Justin began his career as a 5th grade band teacher in Plainfield, Illinois. He and his wife Kristina co-founded Over the Rainbow Enterprises, Inc. in 2006, went full time in 2007, and began raising private capital and equity for real estate projects in 2008.Justin created Smart Guys, LLC in 2009 to acquire small SFR portfolio’s in the South Bend, Indiana area. In 2011 Justin merged his management operations into Homeworks Property Management, which currently manages nearly 1,300 rental units in the Michiana area.In 2012 Justin led the creation of Arkad Properties, LLC a SFR holding company in Illinois. Raising nearly $3,000,000 in equity via 2 PPM’s, Arkad Properties, LLC has been able to deliver strong market and risk-adjusted returns for equity investors. During 2014-2018 Justin and his partners completed over 25 major SFR renovation projects in Chicago and the suburbs with a total sales volume of over $9,000,000.In 2019, Justin partnered with Ken Mensik, Rachel Kain, and Christy Lewis in creating HPP Equity. Justin lives in South Bend Indiana with his wife and four amazing children.
