A position over the summer for eight weeks. I turned sketches of building plans into CAD dwgs using AutoCAD LT 2016. I also helped with some apartment layouts and a lighting scheme design.

I taught English to Grade 4 (8 YO) and grade 6 (11 YO) in Beijing for ten months. It was my role to improve English fluency and to promote an understanding of British culture. The position included teaching 12 different classes in half hour lessons, once per week. ZERO-FIFTY is a highly graphical 650+ page manifesto that demonstrates how man-made carbon emissions can be completely eliminated by the year 2050; the book has been written by two experienced architectural designers over the last six years. This summer ZERO-FIFTY has employed a vast array of creative interns including graphic designers and architects, all of whom bring a unique set of skills to the table. This summer ZERO-FIFTY has employed a vast array of creative interns including graphic designers and architects, all of whom bring a unique set of skills to the table. Based in an open office it is a collaborative creative effort.This summer I have been converting base architectural sketches of future skyscraper designs into NURBS models in Rhinoceros, before converting them into meshes; the meshes are exported into SketchUp and rendered in V-Ray. Post-processing is achieved in Photoshop.-I have improved my understanding of the 3D modelling process, refining my meshes and modelling methods resulting in my tower model now being 30% of the file size when I first exported it into SketchUp.-I have studied V-Ray and rendering techniques to improve my understanding and so can move through the options and discover mistakes much quicker.-As there is a constant inflow of interns I have helped teach the skills I learned earlier on.Examples of the work to be uploaded on the release of the book. Lighting Design III was an intensive class taught by Rodrigo Manriquez, studio leader at SmithGroupJJR and Michelle Ebil-Hankins who works at Alvine. The close-knit class of ten students focused heavily on the design process and presenting our designs.- Having studied Lighting I in the first semester, I gained special permissions to take this class (Lighting III) as I was very interested in it. The close-knit class of ten students focused heavily on the design process and presenting our designs.- Having studied Lighting I in the first semester, I gained special permissions to take this class (Lighting III) as I was very interested in it. The class clashed with my structural design class meaning I missed an hour of the class each week. I managed to stay on top of all my work and beat the other teams in my class in a national competition attaining the runners-up prize (see below)..- The class participated in weekly 'crit' sessions which encouraged a rapport between students in the class, giving very thorough positive criticism pushing our designs and our thinking processes.- The class was thrown into the deep end of 3D modelling, rendering and post-processing in which we succeeded in making some very nice images.- I learned how to present to an audience (including practicing professionals in the field) as if it were a real sales pitch, discovering what is important to the audience and how the presentation should be structured.
