Practice covers all areas of real estate (transactions and litigation), including residential and farm land sales, foreclosure, boundary disputes, quiet title actions, partitions, and other special proceedings. I also represent clients at all stages with estates, whether estate planning, estate administration, and even in incompetency and guardianship actions. The remainder of my practice is focused on civil litigation and corporate formation. I also occasionally represent the Sampson County Department of Social Services on child support, juvenile, and guardianship matters.No matter the case, my focus is on the client, serving as both advocate in the courts and counselor outside the court to best meet their goals.

Wrote articles for a quarterly newsletter concerning recent cases in education and school law.

As NCBA/ABA 2010 Diversity Fellow in Environmental Law, I researched and wrote memoranda regarding the NC Sedimentation Pollution Control Act, Gulf oil spill, and various environmental impact studies. I also worked on memorandum of understanding for NC Zoo, intra-department ethics policy, and advisory opinion regarding guns in state parks. Researched methods to improve the state’s Ecosystem Enhancement Program (EEP).

Researched legal issues surrounding estates and criminal law.

Assisted teachers as needed in classrooms, including working individually with students; responsible for ordering books and supplies for English department.
