Approval responsibility of new product features, components and systems for 35’ & 40’ Transit Bus. Turns approved ideas into projects with Scope, Cost, Timing and Product Introduction planning and leads program management and delivery of all Transit projects. Alignment of validation assets usage and ensures all projects progress through the Stage Gate development process. Owner of Engineering departmental cost budget definition and alignment of projects to the yearly budget. Owns Base Product cost management for the Transit product.

Program Management responsibilities for New Product Development programs.Central program leadership responsibilities to initiate, plan, execute, and govern all aspects of assigned programs to ensure successful delivery of the program’s commitments.Drive Proterra Product Development Process by leading cross functional development teams for on time and on budget program execution from project scoping, design, validation and product introduction.

Responsible for leading the Project Management team as well as projects in Powertrain Engineering. • Leads the assigned Project Managers in project related matters - project range extends for delivery of high risk, multimillion dollar programs to administrative functions.• Supports the business development team to grow sales at accounts with active projects, with emphasis on project variations/extensions.• Oversees quote generation process• Monitors, forecast and controls project schedules and project budgets

Provides expertise to AVL engineering activities, and is responsible for establishing, communicating, and assuring compliance with best practices.• Leads vision and growth plan for assigned skill team• Supports Program Manager in management of timing and finances• Works to ensure programs are resourced effectively• Supports relationship with customers in order to secure additional and future businessPlanning / Coordination• Provides status reports to the Leadership Team• Responsible for technical delivery of assigned programs involving multiple skill teams. • Supports Technical Director in promoting technical image of AVL by - successful program delivery, publication of papers, development of new technologies, creation of patents

Provides technical, program, and staff leadership for a group within the design skill team. Provides technical support to business development and cross-functional engineering teams.

Powertrain Design and Development.Key responsibilities include owning all system engineering tasks relating to component responsibility with design focus on customer projects for design of gasoline, diesel , and JP8 fuel engines. Designed various top and botttom end engine components and design lead for single cylinder engine layouts and design work. Lead designer for small to medium sized projects including component level design, full system development, and single cylinder design and procurement. Mechanical system development and assembly and system testing input for various engine systems. Creation of design department processes and work flow for changing and developing company processes.

Powertrain Design and Development.Key responsibilities include system level design work on customer projects for gasoline, diesel , and JP8 fuel vehicles.Main focus of cylinder head design, valve train layout, intake system design, FEAD Design, and external auxiliary systems. Vehicle integration of the engine and concurrent subsystem packaging. Powertrain testing support and testing of concept designs.

Design and development of chassis and transaxle components and systems for ride on consumer outdoor products. Key project - design and development of planetary friction drive transaxles. Design and development work included concept through production design including component and system testing and validation. Own all system engineering tasks relating to component responsibility i.e. Architecture – Belt Drives, Transaxles, Gears, Pulley, Bearings, Seals, Mechanical controls. Resolving design constraints and establishing interfaces, DFMEA, GD&T, Development of project proposals/project timing, Cost estimating, BOM creation, FEA, PPAP, Project management.

Powertrain Design and Development.Key responsibilities include system level design work for gasolines engines.Customer projects include Automotive, Agriculture, Industrial, GenSets and Consumer power product design and engineering of all aspects of the engine and related components.

Weld processing for sheet metal body structures.High volume plant production layout and support.Responsible for development of the sheet metal body structures, Sheet metal design; inner and outer structures, Master Data Model creation; welds, clamps and pins. Material process flow for automotive assembly lines. Create weld drawings, layouts, process build books and customer documentation. Projects include OEM body processing for high production assembly plants across the U.S. and Canada. BIW CAD design for vehicle tooling, clamping and welding on new and current body structures. Assist in assembly plant layout and welded structures.
