The educational field provides many challenges whether through curriculum development, student engagement, and adherence to school's expectations and guidelines. Therefore, over the past several years I have varied my teaching methods and tools, utilizing different mediums (through print or digital media) to challenge students to think analytically about more than the classical literature and writing styles. Focusing on current events which affect student's community and ethnic backgrounds has also drastically improved student involvement and fostered a welcoming atmosphere through respecting the whole student rather than treating them as immature individuals. During the summer, I generate team-building and leadership training for my camp staff teams and group. I travel with large student groups throughout Europe and North America affording them an appropriate amount of freedom which empowers their personal responsibility and emphasizes a respectful attitude to their constantly changing environment. Through delegating responsibilities to my staff, mediating personality issues, and promoting a group dynamic, the staff and group achieve a group cohesiveness which, despite its briefness, extends for many years.
